BYRON BAY (AUSTRALIA)- A 50 year old British expat living in Sydney, Australia, was killed by a great white shark while surfing the waters off the popular beach of Byron Bay, near Sydney. The shark bit the man in his right leg after which he bled to death.

A brave bystander pulled him out the water, although the shark was still circling the victim. Unfortunately it was too late. Beaches in the area were closed.
